Western Reserve Genealogy and Historical Search

The Western Reserve Heritage Association is ready to assist in your genealogical or historical search. We are located in the center of Geauga County, and within walking distance of the Geauga County Historical Society and Century Village.  Many historical documents and reference materials may be viewed here.  The County’s oldest tax and census records, as well as historical reference books are kept in the Chardon branch of the Geauga West Library, only a 10 mile drive.  The Library has evening and weekend hours.  Chardon is also the location of the County Court House and County offices, with land and deed records, probate records, etc.

From our knowledge of genealogy and historical look-up, we can also travel to other local counties to seek information for you.
This is a fee-based service, as a source of income for this Not-For-Profit organization.

Click HERE for Genealogical Research in Ohio (2nd Edition), by Kip Sperry. (2003)   This is an Internet "preview" version, with a lot of reference and resource information, but not the entire book (which is for sale, online).   Even so, this preview version has over 300 pages available to read on-line.   This book will give Genealogists some good ideas and leads, but does not list actual genealogy of families.   Copyrighted.
